SOCIAL EVENTS

  • Tailgate Party - For Men Only - Sunday, January 22nd - Our Annual Party for the male football fans. Steaks or chicken cooked on the grill plus other goodies and of course...Play Off Game on the new 55”flat screen HD TV!! Call Clubhouse for Time.
  • Dinner & a Movie - Friday, January 27th- “Water for Elephants” starring Reese Witherspoon will be the evening’s movie to enjoy....after dinner of course. Please RSVP.

 

ASK THE EXPERT

  • The Benefits of Exercise -Tuesday, January 10th- Gretchen Malone from Genesee Valley Physical Therapy will present the benefits of regular exercise during and after treatment and will lead participants in some easy & gentle exercises.

 

WORKSHOPS

  • Intro to Sewing & Quilting - Wednesday afternoon - Classes for beginners or advanced students. We will have quilting & sewing expert Nancy Gay available to show you the basics, advanced tips and tricks for your projects. We’ll provide sewing machines to use and all the necessary materials to start your first quilt or to create another family heirloom.
  • Velvet Scarf in a Day - Saturday, January 7th - Beautiful embossed velvet scarf to make. It’s easy and looks so elegant. Just a little sewing involved.
  • Book Club - Monday, January 23rd - The Pillars of Earth by Ken Follett is this month’s reading selection.

 

FOR MEN

  • Gilda’s Diner - Saturday, January 7th - Breakfast, Newspaper & Conversation.
  • Tailgate Party for Men Only- Sunday, January 22nd - Enjoy Football, steak or chicken from the grill and good conversation. Call Clubhouse for times , details and to RSVP.

 

CHILDREN & TEEN

  • Mom & Tots - Thursday mornings- New for young moms, playtime with the little ones in Noogieland. We’ll have a lite lunch for everyone and then they’ll be ready for their afternoon naps at home!
  • Teen Coffee Shop - Monday, January 23rd- New for Teens! Bring a buddy, catch up with your friends and check out our new expresso machine, coffee, tea and hot chocolate available...plus coffee shop snacks.
  • Save the Date! “Lock in” Sleep Over for Teens Friday, February 24th

 

ART CLASSES

  • Jewelry Class- Thursday, January 5th & Tuesday, January 17th- Beginners and seasoned beaders are welcome to create something with all our lovely beads. Annette is there to teach you the basics if you don’t know them.
  • Stenciling Class- Monday, January 9th- Stenciling is fun and addictive. We have wooden items & carpets to stencil.
  • Art Day- Friday, January 20th- A day of arts & crafts and we even feed you lunch. Please RSVP. This class is always a lot of fun.
  • Acrylic Painting- Thursday, January 19th - Learn to paint with acrylics, it’s so much fun, really, REALLY!
  • Open Art Class- Tuesday, January 24th and Thursday, January 26th- The art room is open for members to work on whatever the muse inspires, painting, card making, jewelry. Annette is on hand to help you get started, or to teach you what you need.
  • Card Making- Tuesday, January 31st- More scrumptious cards to create for winter’s special occasions.


EXERCISE CLASSES

  • Tai Chi/Qigong - Monday evenings - This class is designed by Dr. Annemarie Groth-Juncker to improve health, function and well being for those with cancer, chronic health problems, or for those feeling tired or under stress!
  • Gentle Yoga -Wednesday evenings - with Tonya Nagel. RSVP required.

  • Be Your Own Best Valentine - Friday, February 10th - We’ll prepare a special dinner to celebrate followed by a showing of  the movie “Valentine’s Day”

  • Genetics, Heredity & Breast Cancer - Monday, February 13th - Kristie Smith, MS Certified Genetics Counselor from Elizabeth Wende Breast Clinic will answer all your questions about this important topic.

 

WORKSHOPS

  • Valentines for Soldiers - Friday, February 3rd - Come in and cut, paste and create valentines we will send to our armed forces.  Come show your support for our troops.
  • Intro to Sewing & Quilting - Wednesday afternoon  - Quilting classes for beginners or advanced students.  We will have quilting expert Nancy Gay  available to show you the basics, advanced tips and tricks for your sewing  & quilting projects.  We’ll provide sewing machines to use and all the necessary materials to start your first quilt
  • Book Club - Monday, February 20th - This month’s selection  “The Paris Wife” by  Paula McLain  is the story of Ernest Hemingway and his wife Hadley Richardson during  their early marriage in Paris living among other historical celebrities (Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound, etc).

CHILDREN & TEEN

  • Winter Break Extravaganza - February 20th-23rd- 12-2pm Lunch included Monday thru Wednesday. RSVP. Monday, February 20th - Game Day - Tuesday, February 21st - Kids Open Art Day - Wednesday, Februrary 22nd - Movie Day (KungFu Panda 2) - Thursday, February 23rd - Rochester Museum & Science Center- Call Clubhouse for details.
  • Teen “Lock In” Sleep Over-(ages 12 +) Friday, February 24th - Bring a friend along and join us for a fun all night gathering, with pizza, snacks, Bingo & prizes, Extreme Hide & Seek, Movie, Wii Games & our version of cupcake decorating wars.  Don’t forget your pillow and sleeping bag!
  • Moms & Tots- Thursday, February 2, 9th, 16th - For young moms, playtime with the little ones in Noogieland.  We’ll have a lite lunch for everyone & then they’ll be ready for their afternoon naps at home!

  • Valentine Painted Shirts- Thursday, February 2nd - Lynne Saulpaugh is our guest instructor for this class.  Decorate with special fabric paints a fun T-Shirt for your valentine.  See sample in display case.
  • Valentine Day Cards- Monday, February 6th - Cards to make and send to your favorite valentines.
  • Open Art Room- Thursday, February 9th & Friday, February 17th - Art Room is open for members to work on whatever the muse inspires...painting, card making, etc.  
  • Acrylic Painting- Thursday, February 16th - Release your inner artist!  Have fun with painting on canvas.
  • Jewelry Class - Monday, February 20th &Tuesday, February 28th - Beginners & seasoned beaders are welcome to create something with all our lovely beads. Annette will teach basics and advanced techniques.
  • Felted Purses- Thursday, February 23rd- We have some felted purses available for you to decorate, easy & fun
