Prostate Cancer Support Group
Gilda’s Prostate Cancer Support Group is the longest running prostate support group in Monroe County. It is an opportunity to connect with other men about prostate cancer to discuss common issues, obtain information, and share experiences and emotions related to living with this cancer. Whether long term survivors or newly diagnosed, men can engage in informal group discussion and support. The group meets at the clubhouse on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month at 6 pm.

Once a month on a Saturday morning, the clubhouse is transformed into a breakfast diner for men only. All men are welcome to become part of this Saturday morning tradition! Enjoy breakfast, newspaper and great conversation. Monthly reservation required.

Some of our social events for male members have included our annual tailgate party, March Madness party with pizza & wings, and Rochester Red Wings baseball games.
I have personally seen many men at various stages of prostate cancer come to our meetings and leave with not only some valuable information, but also a better feeling knowing that they can come back to the meetings and discuss all aspects of prostate cancer--both the physical aspects and the emotional ones.John
The meetings helped me understand what was happening, and gave me a place to get answers to questions I had about prostate cancer that I couldn’t find on my own.Trevor
My advice would be to find a support group like Gilda’s Club. Investigate, choose, and do - and do it quickly. Be aggressive now. Keep a journal of your tests, scans, Gleason scores, pathology reports, and notes from all the practitioners.David
Our group members offer a lot of information from their personal experiences, which is helping me deal with on-going anxiety.Marc
